Linear Algebra

For many students Linear Algebra is the first course in college mathematics that includes the writing of proofs. However, because of the shortened summer session, we will limit the number of proofs and spend more time on the computational aspects of linear algebra. The method that I use for teaching the course is that of abstraction and generalization. New "abstract" concepts that need to be mastered are derived from mathematical concepts that are well known to us. A quick review of some of these concepts is in order.
